TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
Version 1.0 · Effective date: 1 June 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website. By accessing or using TechForYou you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Plain language summary: By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the TechForYou website located at www.techforyou.co.za (“the Website”), including all content, features, and services available on or through the Website.
The Website is owned and operated by TechForYou (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a business registered and operating in the Republic of South Africa.
By accessing or using the Website in any manner, including but not limited to visiting or browsing the Website, engaging with the chatbot assistant, submitting enquiries, or contributing content, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of the Terms, you may not access the Website or use any of its services.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Website following any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date of the most recent version is displayed at the top of this document.
2. Nature of Content — General Information Only
Plain language summary: Everything on this site is general guidance — not professional advice. For banking, legal, medical or financial matters, always consult a qualified professional or your service provider directly.
The content published on TechForYou — including all articles, guides, glossary entries, chatbot responses, and any other material — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing on this Website constitutes, or should be construed as, professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to:
- Financial or banking advice
- Legal advice
- Medical or health advice
- Information technology or cybersecurity professional advice
- Investment advice
While we make every reasonable effort to ensure that information is accurate, current and helpful, technology changes rapidly. App interfaces, menu locations, network codes, pricing, government service procedures and other details described in our content may change after publication without notice.
You should always verify important information — particularly relating to banking, government services, and online security — directly with the relevant organisation through their official channels. When in doubt about any financial or security matter, contact your bank or service provider using the number on the back of your card or their official website, not a number found in a message or search result.
TechForYou does not endorse any specific product, service, network provider, application, or organisation mentioned on the Website unless explicitly stated.
3. Limitation of Liability
Plain language summary: We are not responsible for any loss or harm that results from using this site or acting on its content. Use the site at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable South African law, TechForYou, its owners, contributors, employees and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Website or its content
- Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the content
- Any action taken or not taken in reliance on content published on the Website
- Any loss of data, income, profit, or goodwill
- Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or device
- Any third-party conduct or content linked to or referenced from the Website
This limitation applies regardless of whether the claim is based in contract, delict, statute, or any other legal theory, and even if TechForYou has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions where the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages is not permitted, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
4. Use of the Chatbot Assistant (Tina)
Plain language summary: Tina is an AI assistant trained on TechForYou content. She provides general guidance only. Do not share sensitive personal or financial information in the chat.
The Website features an AI-powered chatbot assistant named Tina, provided through a third-party platform (Chatbase). Tina is trained on TechForYou content and is designed to answer general technology questions in plain language.
By using the chatbot you acknowledge and agree that:
- Tina’s responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate, complete or current
- Chatbot interactions do not constitute professional advice of any kind
- You should not share sensitive personal information in the chat, including ID numbers, banking details, passwords, OTPs or financial account information
- TechForYou is not responsible for any harm resulting from reliance on chatbot responses
- Chat conversations may be stored and processed by the third-party chatbot platform in accordance with their own privacy policy
For urgent matters — including suspected fraud, compromised accounts, or financial emergencies — contact your bank or relevant authority directly. Tina is not equipped to handle emergencies and should not be used as a substitute for contacting the appropriate service provider.
